In accordance with the timeline for the next SKAO Council meeting in July 2026, expressions of interest are being invited for the next Scientific Advisor to UK SKAO Council Delegates, supporting the STFC Executive Chair and DSIT.

A minimum of 2,000 hours of observing time will be awarded through this opportunity. MeerKAT comprises 64 dishes with exceptional sensitivity and baselines of up to 8 km, supporting continuum, spectral line, and pulsar/fast transient observations across the UHF, L-band, and S-band receivers.

The deadline for proposal submission is 12:00pm UTC on Wednesday 15 July 2026.

Prospective users are strongly encouraged to review the call documentation and proposal preparation guidance before submitting an application.

Information Sessions:

To support proposal preparation, SARAO will host two online information sessions on 29 June 2026. These sessions will provide an overview of the proposal process, available resources, and an opportunity to ask questions.
